These labels are used to ensure the identity integrity of the specimens through a variety of means. The labels can be used to identify date, collector, shipping container seal, specimen identification and do double duty as a sealing document for the specimen.
The labels are also die cut in a very sophisticated manner which provides tamper resistance.
Symbology Slide Labels for Histology
- The Symbology slide label with protective over laminate can be printed and affixed to the slide prior to staining. Eliminate worries about misidentification due to degrading of label information during test procedures or storage. Our labels for histology are designed for microscope slides, paraffin wax blocks, plastic containers, slide boxes stored in deep-freeze conditions. These slide labels are printed using a desktop thermal transfer label printer. They produce clear, crisp printed barcodes and text that remain legible, do not fade or smear, and produce successful scans – even after stainer processing.
- Symbology developed this label using specialized materials that are resistant to stains and solvents. Symbology slide labels are chemical-resistant to withstand direct exposure to and immersion in xylene, toluene, alcohols, formalin, hexane, acetone, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), acetonitrile (ACN), as well as other harsh chemicals and organic solvents.

Our Blood Barcode Technology produces error-free labels to examine and verify blood donation and transfusion information. The multi-piece DIN label must meet strict criteria for both non-reactive materials and layout. Materials must be FDA compliant and are rigidly tested for freeze, thaw, aging and migration methods to ensure purity of blood units.
Layout and piggyback construction require variable size and quantity of blood label components – each with the same unit number – to be used on bags, files, test tubes and vials. Barcodes must also meet requirements for various blood testing equipment. The label is used primarily with bags containing blood samples for testing or units for transfusion.
